The first step of what we call self-realization is to realize what we actually are. This can only be found out in daily life. We cannot find it in a cave. You can sit in a cave for fifteen years, meditate and think you are free of anger, jealousy and everything. But what will you be jealous of in a cave, who will you get angry with ?
There is nobody. Only when you come out of the cave, get into the bus and someone with a high heel steps on your foot, then you know if you are really free of anger. Not in the cave.

• July 28, 2017 at 06:26 AMFor I read in the Living with the Himalayan Masters" that said by Swami Rama as " Living a rununciate's life is like a sacrifice, that you are devoid of the world yet you help them (people) far away from far by sending vibration, or guiding them to their sole destination. Whereas Living a house holders life is like living in the material world with contstant struggle, push and pull ups and downs, it is like a life in which you have to conquest between good or bad.

• February 20, 2015 at 03:54 AMMany a times I used to feel that going away from family life is no solution for our problems. When a person truly renounces materialistic desires he may go into a cave for deep contemplation. However, as rightly said by Sri. M, the true realization is possible only when you are in the midst of LIFE and realize YOURSELF.
Pranams for a practical thought for the day.
