Sri M has kindly consented for a retreat in Kodagu (Coorg), Karnataka, from 20th evening to 23rd noon of January 2017. The retreat is organized at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s rural school campus in Gharwale.
The registration will open on the 20th and will close on the 30th of December 2016.
About Gharwale
Gharwale, which is 35 kms from Madikeri, the district headquarters of Kodagu, is a remote village and not connected by public transport. Hence, the participants who receive their confirmation have to reach Madikeri by 4 pm on 20th of January. The group will leave together for Gharwale in a vehicle specially arranged for that. Transport from and to Madikeri will be provided as part of the package. The total cost will be inclusive of transport from Madikeri and back and the amount will be the same for people who come in their own transport. People who wish to drive to and from Gharwale can follow the transport organised to ferry participants. The retreat will come to an end with lunch on the 23rd of Jan.
Accommodation
Accommodation is provided in dormitories and big rooms. There will be no single or twin sharing accommodation. The minimum will be 5-6 sharing for women.
Elderly women/men will be accommodated in big rooms with cots, beds and blankets.
Other men will be accommodated in simple tents. The tents are 4 sharing with beds and blankets.
The toilet facilities are common but separate for men and women. Hot water is available for bath.
Separate/ exclusive accommodation for couples and children is not available.
Part-time participation option is not on offer.
Cost and mode of Payment
The cost of the retreat is between Rs 7500/- and Rs. 8000/- per head from Madikeri to Madikeri for 3 nights and 3 days. The final cost will be intimated to the confirmed participants in due time.
Registration
Registration is on first come first served basis. The names of the registered participants will be informed by email. After the registration, participants are required to pay a non-refundable amount of Rs. 2500/- by Demand Draft or through bank transfer to confirm participation. The name of the bank and the account no. to which the advance has to be credited will be intimated to the registered participants. The remaining amount could be paid on arrival for the retreat BY CASH ONLY. Cheques will not be accepted.

On 23rd and 24th evenings, Sri M will address the public at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Madikeri at 6.30 pm. Interested friends can stay back for the talks. Those of you who need accommodation on 23rd and 24th in Madikeri, kindly inform in advance by email. Accommodation will be unavailable without prior booking.
Reaching there
Kodagu (Coorg) is located 250 kms away from Bangalore and 120 kms away from Mysore. The usual route is Bangalore-Ramanagaram-Mandya-Mysore-Hunsur-Kushalnagar-Madikeri by road. Madikeri, the district headquarters of Kodagu, is connected only by road. The nearest railway station is in Mysore. The next nearest is in Bangalore. The nearest airport is in Bangalore. Madikeri is situated 275 kms away from Bangalore airport.
Madikeri can also be reached via Kerala through route 1) Kannur-Virajpet-Madikeri.
route 2) Kanhangad- Payyanur-Madikeri.
The place of retreat has no internet, Wi-Fi facilities. The only network available is of BSNL.
