Planting a sapling is a symbol of Manavikata. It is not only environmentally beneficial, but is also a symbol of adopting another ‘Jeeva’ - another being/life - and nurturing it. The attitude behind a seed being nurtured into a tree has to be encouraged.

• May 26, 2017 at 02:41 PMI have planted many trees viz. coconut trees, mango trees, jack fruit trees and 'chamba'. Jack fruit trees (2nos), gives sweet fruits for the last 9 years.I have not sold any so far. I find it very happy to present it to my neighbors and friends every year. These two jack fruit trees and other trees block dust coming from the road, gives good shade ,fresh cool air (oxygen) and keeps temperature inside my home less hot and comparatively cool. I want to treat them like my family members and look after them...........
