Buddha’s work was an original exposition of the Upanishads in their pristine purity. His effort was to render them in crystal clear thought, as opposed to the ritualism, customs and practices, which had taken over the ancient teachings through the years and hid their true essence almost completely. So much so, it had become difficult to even get a glimpse of Truth in them.

Devotees are also on rise in temples and Godmen asrams
Devotees blindly follows the rituals, astrological remedies, vasthu, etc with sheep mentality, ie, blindly following what others say and doing..............
Many worship, serve and attach themselves blindly to Godmen thinking they can provide them all , even Moksha...................( forgive if I am wrong since I am not sure whether I am right or wrong)
No one to enlighten ........No one to speak about Truth......
Buddhas work has more relevance today.....
