I’m trying to draw a line between intelligence and intellect. Intellectual is gathering more and more information. Intelligence is to do with understanding. Intellectuals are those who gather knowledge from all sources.

Cambridge dictionary gives the following definition of the word 'intellectual' among many others:

"a person whose life or work centers around the study or use of ideas, such as in teaching or writing".

I think an intellectual naturally is intelligent. An intelligent person may or may not pursue a life of learning teaching or mental work.

I do not see any reason to re-invent the wheel.
