Sri M's "The Journey Continues" launched in Bengaluru on April 22, 2017

The sequel to Sri M's Apprenticed to a Himalayan Master (2011), The Journey Continues was launched in Bengaluru at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on 22 April 2017, by Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Minister of Law & Justice, and Electronics and Information and Technology, in the presence of Sri M. Prof. P. J. Kurien, Deputy Chairman, Rajya Sabha, was the Chief Guest. Other Guests of Honor that graced the glittering event include Justice M. N. Venkatachalaiah, former Chief Justice of India, Mr. Ashok Haranahalli, senior advocate and former advocate general of Karnataka, and Mr. Deepak Shah, Director, Sapna Book House. While the earlier book dealt with the strange life experiences of Sri M, born as Mumtaz Ali Khan, each episodic aspect of his journey bringing awareness to the reader of the existence of higher spiritual planes, the sequel opens up the reality of greater vistas of consciousness that credibly questions the parameters and limits of modern science. Lucid in style, spiritual in content, yet written in absorbing fashion, with the sole focus of communicating to the common reader, The Journey Continues is a book of hope for a happier life, simply through the narration of the extraordinary experiences of Sri M. The interest and the curiosity that the book kindles, and the awareness it creates of a world beyond one’s limited understanding of it, is the invaluable worth of the continued autobiography of Sri M. As a social reformer, educationist and spiritual guide, Sri M has attempted to bring all sections of society together through his talks, which are not confined to yoga and the Upanishads alone. He quotes extensively from the religious traditions of Buddhists, Christians, Jews and the Sufis too. Sri M also successfully completed the arduous and unthinkable Walk of Hope, in 2015-16, when he crisscrossed the entire country on foot, literally from Kanyakumari to Kashmir—a 15-month walk of 7,500 km, spreading the message of peace and harmony, for a better India, and a better future for the younger generation. All this was undertaken with the barest of physical necessities, with Sri M making do with accommodation in schools and places of worship, and food offered by the locals, thus leading the path through example. This feat is unparalleled in Indian history. Sri M's The Satsang Foundation in Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh, runs a school for underprivileged children, and Swasthya Kendra, a free medical service for the poor. Two other recent, crucial initiatives of the Foundation are Mythri, a large-scale re-forestation programme, and the setting up of a medical centre for the needy on the outskirts of Bengaluru. The Journey Continues, and other books and CDs/DVDs of Sri M were also made available at the function venue.
